Outline of the Excursion

After coffee at Morton’s Garden Centre, another hour will bring us to Much Wenlock. Before lunch we will tour the English Heritage site of Wenlock Abbey.

Here are beautiful ruins of the abbey of the Cluniac order. There is an excellent individual audio guide included in the concessionary entry fee of £2.50 (2006 rates).

Bring a picnic lunch, or there are many cafes and restaurants available in the town a few hundred yards away.

In the afternoon we have arranged for a guided visit of the town in groups of 10 for a fee of £2 per person. There will be time for tea before we return home.
