Excursion Details

Flint was among the first of Edward I’s Welsh castles. Richard II was taken prisoner by the Earl of Northumberland about 1½ miles west of Abergele, and escorted to Flint Castle, where he was persuaded to abdicate in favour of Henry Bolingbroke, later Henry IV.

A guide will explain the many special and extraordinary features of this castle and afterwards we will have supper at "The Bells of St Mary's" in Gronant.

Suitable footwear should be worn for the castle.
